The Portuguese Air Force released video footage showing the aftermath of flooding along the Vouga River, caused by heavy rainfall brought by Cyclone “Kristin.” To monitor the situation, two AW119 Koala helicopters were deployed to conduct reconnaissance flights over flooded areas between the Ria de Aveiro lagoon and the Ermida dam. The operation was carried out jointly with the Navy and the Marine Corps, making it possible to identify the most severely affected areas and assess the scale of the threat.
