António José Seguro was the clear winner of the second round of the presidential elections — the first held in 40 years — and was elected President of the Republic with the highest vote share ever, surpassing the record set by Mário Soares. Seguro won with 66.8% of the vote against Ventura’s 33.2%.
Seguro secured victory across the entire national territory, winning in all districts and in both autonomous regions, losing only among voters abroad. André Ventura, despite his defeat on election night, managed to surpass the total number of votes obtained by Chega in the most recent legislative elections.
