The PSD and CDS-PP parties have submitted revised amendments to the citizenship law after the Constitutional Court rejected parts of the previous version. The new draft aims to incorporate feedback from other political forces and reach a compromise. A key issue remains the revocation of citizenship as an additional penalty: the list of applicable offences has been narrowed, excluding drug trafficking, illegal weapons possession, pimping, and illegal immigration, while stricter prison sentence requirements are introduced. The proposal also removes distinctions between natural-born and naturalized citizens. Citizenship application timelines remain unchanged. However, consensus is still lacking, with PS opposing the measure and Chega preparing its own amendments. Material taken from https://t.me/s/lepta
