The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Portuguese Bar Association (Ordem dos Advogados) are launching a free legal aid initiative for immigrants, set to begin in April. The foundation will fully fund the project, while lawyers will be compensated according to standard rates. The initiative aims to address the overload of public services and difficulties in dealing with the migration agency AIMA. It will assist immigrants in navigating bureaucratic procedures, preparing documents, and obtaining official decisions. The program does not involve any special legalization measures but focuses on basic legal support. Initially, consultations will be offered, with plans to introduce a national hotline and grant funding for integration projects. Material taken from https://t.me/s/lepta
