Air traffic in Portugal reached a record 913,000 movements in 2025, up 5% from 2024, according to NAV Portugal chairman Pedro Ângelo. Growth was recorded in the Lisbon and Santa Maria flight information regions, covering flights to and from Portuguese airports as well as overflights in national airspace. Despite increased system pressure, air traffic control-related delays dropped by 18%, driven by technological investments, additional staff and operational improvements. NAV is also preparing a major reorganization of Portuguese airspace, creating new en-route control sectors to accommodate rising traffic. Material taken from https://observador.pt
