Two documents amending the citizenship law have been submitted to President António José Seguro. Parliament approved the texts on April 1, and they were delivered to the head of state on April 13. Political parties have eight days to request a review by the Constitutional Court, while the president has 20 days to make a final decision. The Socialist Party (PS) is considering challenging provisions on the loss of citizenship but does not plan to block the second document, which includes key changes such as extending residency requirements and abolishing the special regime for descendants of Sephardic Jews. A previous attempt was rejected by the court. Minister António Leitão Amaro said the revised law complies with the constitution. Material taken from https://t.me/s/lepta
