Patients using Portugal’s public healthcare system can now see how much the government has spent on their medical treatment over the past five years through the SNS 24 mobile app and online portal. The database includes all registered healthcare services, such as visits to family doctors and specialists, laboratory tests, medication, hospitalizations, hemodialysis procedures, dental care and patient transport. Luís Goes Pinheiro, head of the Health Ministry’s shared services agency, said the feature was introduced to improve transparency and help taxpayers better understand how public funds are used. Access to the information is strictly confidential and limited to each individual patient. The section does not include unpaid bills or personal debts. Material taken from https://t.me/s/lepta
