Portugal will host hundreds of events from May 17 to 23 to mark International Museum Day, with most exhibitions, concerts, guided tours and workshops offering free admission. The program, organized by Museus e Monumentos de Portugal under the theme of uniting a divided world, will span cultural venues across the country, including Madeira and the Azores. The opening ceremony on May 17 at 4:00 p.m. will feature simultaneous concerts at 26 palaces and monuments, with works by Fernando Lopes-Graça and Ludwig van Beethoven. Special exhibitions, educational programs, film screenings, yoga sessions and creative activities are also planned in Lisbon, Cascais and Bragança.
