The Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML) and the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA) are working together on plans to create a network of local migrant support centers across municipalities in the Lisbon region. The initiative was discussed during a meeting of the Metropolitan Working Group on Social Affairs and Health held in Lisbon on Monday.
According to information released on Friday, the project aims to strengthen local support structures for migrants by expanding AIMA’s presence throughout the metropolitan area.
The proposal reflects ongoing cooperation between regional and national authorities on migration and integration policies, although no further operational details were provided in the available information.
