Portugal has extended free registration of rural and mixed-use land plots through the BUPi platform until September 30, 2026. The updated rules apply to properties of up to 50 hectares and are aimed at simplifying land registry procedures introduced after major wildfires in recent years. Authorities have also made precise geolocation of land plots mandatory for property sales, as well as for obtaining subsidies and financial assistance. The platform now includes a procedure allowing adjacent plots to be merged online. The process is fully digital and accessible to landowners living abroad through the Portal das Comunidades using a citizen card or digital mobile key. Official data show that more than 3 million plots have already been registered across 158 municipalities. Material taken from https://t.me/s/lepta
