Starting April 17, 2026, the Portuguese Embassy in Moscow introduced a simplified document submission process for Russian applicants under three visa categories: D4 national student visas, E9 visas for Erasmus Mundus programs, and E6 visas for applicants requiring further processing through AIMA. Applicants can now submit documents without a prior appointment at the BLS visa center in Moscow on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Entry to the center requires a university invitation letter. However, document package requirements remain unchanged, with no easing of supporting documentation rules. Standard appointment procedures continue to apply for all other visa categories.
