A new phase of the electric vehicle purchase support program will begin by the end of June with a €20 million budget. Environment and Energy Minister Maria da Graça Carvalho said applications will open in May or June, slightly delayed from the initially planned March launch. Eligibility rules remain unchanged: subsidies apply to the purchase of a new fully electric car and the scrapping of an internal combustion vehicle older than 10 years, with compensation of up to €5,000 per vehicle.
